About Bertie
Bertie came in as a stray, underweight and unhappy, and after vet care was found to be diabetic. He struggled in the kennel environment but blossomed in foster care, where his carers describe a lovely, independent boy who knows what he likes, keeps himself clean and tidy and adores his cosy bed. He is a big foodie, which helps make his insulin injections an easy part of his daily routine. He can be a little feisty if petted too much without permission or lifted, but once you earn his trust he becomes a devoted sidekick. He needs owners experienced with giving insulin and with indoor and outdoor access.
