About Mango
Still under assessment, Mango is making steady progress and showing more personality every day. She is a young bird with a big character, and work focuses on teaching boundaries, building trust and developing healthier behaviours. She tends to jump up rather than step up calmly, so is learning to wait for the cue. She is very vocal, especially when left, so attention-seeking screaming is being reduced by rewarding calm, quiet behaviour. She doesn't bite with intent but can chomp hard, so gentle beak pressure is being taught. She is starting to pick up new words. Needs an experienced, patient home prepared for a large, demanding macaw.
