The Dog & Cat Shelter is a long-established animal rehoming charity based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, caring for dogs and cats in the North East of England. The shelter takes in strays, owner-relinquished and neglected animals, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and assessment before matching each animal with a suitable forever home. A dedicated team of staff, fosterers and volunteers supports the animals throughout their stay, and the charity also runs charity shops and community fundraising to fund its work.
